Since 1977, my shop has specialized in modifications to the Browning designed 1911 and P-35 pistols. Through my close association with all the quality pistol and parts manufacturers, I have the ability to offer my customers a wide range of options to customize their pistol for individual preference and need.
In the latest Guns and Ammo “Complete Book of the 1911-The Custom Edition” available on newsstands now, an article written by David Kenik is included on pages 78-85 about his experience while attending my 1911 Build Class January 14-18 of this year. David has done a great job describing all the aspects of the class and many of the procedures I use to explain and build a high quality pistol during his week in the shop. He has included a great many of his photos with the article.
Also in this issue on pages 86-91, Greg Rodriguez has written an article on a Caspian Commander pistol that I built for him about six years ago. Although I no longer use or build on Titanium frames because of the difficultly working with that particular material, the article Greg has written will give the reader some insight into the various modifications I use when building a serious, concealed carry pistol for daily wear. It is also gratifying that Greg has worn, shot, and considered this pistol as his primary carry piece for the past five or six years.
